Let Truth Speak — Hope
Becoming Examples of Hope
The Apostle Paul wrote his first letter to the Thessalonians in AD 51. This particular group of believers was experiencing intense trials and opposition. One of the reasons for the intense persecution was due to their turning away from the false gods of their day to place their trust in Jesus. Paul was made aware that these believers were remaining faithful even in the face of persecution. The apostle was encouraged because the gospel was moving in power among this group of Christians.
It was written that this group of believers served as examples to other Christians in their...
He Was Not Spared
One of my favorite verses in the Bible is Romans 8:32. Here, the Apostle Paul states, “He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, with Him, graciously give us all things?” This truth and promise should produce worship and gratitude in our hearts. God has done the unimaginable in sending His Son, the One with whom He shares glory (John 17:5). The Son, who became human, never sinned and always pleased the Father, and Scripture states that He was not spared.

Keep Going!
For many of us, there are life events that are so vivid, they appear in our minds as if they happened less than 24 hours ago. For me, it was a mild fall day and my youngest niece attempted to swallow a peppermint, and it got stuck in her throat, causing her to stop breathing. I was outside when I heard my sister-in-law scream. I ran inside to find my sister-in-law on the phone with 911 and my niece on the floor gasping for air with tears in her eyes, reaching out as if she could grasp the air. I...
Reigning Grace
So that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Romans 5:21
Being in Christ changes everything. It changes who we worship and it changes who we are. God's grace is not merely a get out of jail free card; His grace reigns. God's grace conquers souls who are, or who were, under the reigning power of sin. When grace captures a person it sets them on a forever path of...
