Reigning Grace

So that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭21‬

Being in Christ changes everything. It changes who we worship and it changes who we are. God's grace is not merely a get out of jail free card; His grace reigns. God's grace conquers souls who are, or who were, under the reigning power of sin. When grace captures a person it sets them on a forever path of righteousness under the reign of grace. Because of Jesus, this path leads to eternal life. There is no salvation outside of the reign of grace. There is no sanctification outside of the reign of grace. Any other reign is only the reign of sin.

For the believer, we can only look to the giver and the sustainer of the grace that reigns in our lives. He (Jesus) will keep us on the path to eternal life. Amen. That path will be a path that continues to look to and be satisfied with Jesus' righteousness, and by it, we will continue to walk as we're called to. We have Jesus to look to and we have Jesus to behold.

For the unbeliever, if you're not under the reign of grace you are under the reign of sin, and in the end it will be eternal destruction. Today, even right now, look to the reigning power in the good news of Jesus Christ who lived perfectly, who died for your sin (if you believe), who rose victoriously for you, and who ascended back to heaven to keep His people in Him. Run to the reign of grace in Christ Jesus and there you will become a new creature. Grace given by God that we may honor God in every way.
