Loved Some More

Loved Some More

If you are in Christ, do you sometimes forget the foundational truths of God's love for you? Do you sometimes feel that God loved you once you acknowledged your need for Him and now you have to strive to get that love back?

For every person in Christ, God has set His love on us in Christ before the foundation of the world. Sometimes in our walk we may feel like God's love is distant, but in actuality, for all who are in Christ, God is loving us with the same love that He has had for us when He chose us in Christ. This love wasn't because we did anything right. For God loved us while we were still weak (Romans 5:6), while we were still sinners (Romans 5:7). His love isn't merely verbal. God showed His love perfectly by sending Jesus to live, to die, to be buried, and to be raised for us. In Christ, all who turn and trust in Him are justified.

All who are in Christ, we have been forgiven, which shows that we've offended the One who offers forgiveness. All of God's image bearers have turned our allegiance to everything except God. God in His mercy did the opposite of what our sins deserved. On the cross, Jesus took all of God's wrath in our place. He (Jesus) is the perfect human; He is the perfect representation of mankind. He is the One who shares glory with the Father. Angels worship Him, and He is our Savior. Being that Jesus was raised from the dead, He will never die again (Romans 6:9). His resurrection shows that His sacrifice is official. It also shows that all who trust in Him have also been raised with Him into newness of life.

We have received Jesus' righteousness. For all who have, who are, and who will turn and trust in Christ, they will have the unending love of God. We will have God Himself! Our issue with God has been handled, and every believer is once and for all justified because of the gift of faith in Christ (Romans 5:1) Justified: acquitted of all sinful charges against God and declared righteous. Let us remember, because of Jesus' shed blood, we have also been forgiven; we have peace with God (Romans 5:1).

Again, sometimes in our walk we forget that God is actively for us with the same love He has had for us before the foundation of the world. We subconsciously think that God's love stopped right after we were justified. But let us remember, God will continue to lavish us with His love while we continue in our walk (good days and rough days).

His love is what's going to keep us on the narrow road and His love is what's going to keep us satisfied in Him because of Jesus and by the Spirit. His love has been poured into our hearts by His Spirit (Romans 5:5), and we will continue in His love, now and for all eternity. Nothing can keep us from God's love, and He has proven that by taken care of and continuing to take care of everything that would keep us away from His love. He is truly for us!

Loved, Justified, Forgiven, and Loved Some More. Praise His Name!
